Not satisfied with simply trying to ban e-cigarettes, Toronto Public Health has now set its sights on drinks like Jagerbombs.
In a report that will be presented to the city’s Board of Health on August 18, the organization suggests that the city not allow liquor permit applicants to sell drinks where alcohol and caffeine are mixed together. This means large scale events like Ribfest—and not local bars—might be prevented from serving such drinks.
The organization says it wants to stop the “wide-awake-drunk” state that people enter in to when they mix caffeine with alcohol.
The timing of the move seems strange. It’s not like mixing caffeine with alcohol is a new thing. After all, we’re about seven years removed since Broski and his new haircut popularized “Jagaaaabombs“ (video NSFW). Moreover, most people have the sense not down 10 Jagerbombs in a row. [Toronto Star]
