Doug Ford gets a last minute endorsement from... John Oliver?
Watch one of the funniest endorsements you will see this mayoral election.

The Toronto Star, Globe and Mail and National Post all published their mayoral endorsements recently—and unsurprisingly they all picked John Tory as their go-to man—but the most convincing endorsement only came last night.

And it came courtesy of comedian John Oliver.

The former Daily Show correspondent took a moment last night during his show to talk about Doug Ford. He told his audience about Ford’s recent misadventures—including about how Ford called Toronto Star reporter Jennifer Pagliaro a “little bitch”—before offering the following ringing endorsement:

“Look, Toronto, I think I speak for the rest of the world when I deliver you this message. Please, please elect this man. Sure, sure his brother was fun, but at a certain point we felt bad for laughing at him. Doug Ford doesn’t have a drug problem. He’s just an asshole, a non-chemically assisted asshole So, please Toronto, I beg you, let us laugh at your asshole for another four years. Yours sincerely, everyone who does not live in Toronto.”

You know what, John? Maybe it is worth enduring for more years of a Ford running this city so that others around the world can have an additional laugh or two over at our expense.
