Two-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas landed her gymnastics routine, and her first cereal box cover on Thursday night.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, almost instantly after the 16-year-old’s gold medal win in the individual all-around gymnastics competition, Kelloggs announced she would grace the cover of a Corn Flakes box. The company was quick to release a mock-up featuring Douglas, as shown above.
Douglas beat out Russian favourites Victoria Komova and Aliya Mustafina, and became the first person of colour to win that event. Breaking records, the Virginia Beach, VA native is also the first American gymnast to win the team and individual all-around gold medals at the same Olympics.
Scheduled to participate in the uneven bars finals on Aug. 6 and the balance beam finals on Aug. 7, Douglas has received Twitter shout outs from the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Michael Phelps, Nicki Minaj, Samuel L. Jackson, and even President Obama.
