New York City has taken overtaken Toronto as the city with the most new high-rises going up in the world.
That’s according to new data from the city’s monthly economic dashboard report (PDF link), which says that 133 high-rises were under active construction during the month of September. That’s a drop from last September when 155 were being built at the same time.
New York, in contrast, currently has 154 high-rises going up.
However, according to a recent Bank of Montreal report, Toronto may soon reclaim that title.
Of course, whether the city has the most high-rises going up or not, there’s still the very real fear that Toronto’s condo boom may turn large swaths of the city in to vertical slums. [Via Toronto Life]
