The two-tone lip has been executed a number of times by high-fashion makeup artists over the past few years and is now beginning to make headway beyond the runway tents. Daring bloggers and trendsetters are wearing this look in a variety of colours and shades to add a unique flare to their looks.

While some two-toned lips take it to the extreme by combining completely opposite colours, this look also works by using a darker and lighter version of the same colour.

In 2010, Nanette Lepore used a two-toned lip to add demure to her fall runway. The top lip was brightened up just a smidgen to give her models a sultry, pouty look.

For the Emanuel Ungaro 2009 fall show, makeup artist Tom Pecheux used bright orange and pink for an attention-stealing lip.

Whether you go bold or keep it subtle, will you be wearing two-tone lips anytime soon?
