Apple Inc. plans on using a larger screen on the next-generation iPhone.
The company has already begun to place orders for the new displays from suppliers, according to Reuters.
The new screens will measure four inches (10.16 centimeters) from corner to corner.
Apple’s decision to make the larger screens comes as a competitive response to Samsung Electronics, whose newest version of it’s Galaxy smartphone comes with a 4.8-inch touch screen and faster processor.
In the first quarter Samsung sold 45 million smartphones, and sales of the Galaxy phones exceeded iPhone.
