The new TTC streetcars are set to arrive in less than two weeks. To celebrate, the TTC has released a Youtube video detailing all the fancy features each streetcar comes installed with.
Notable features include four door boarding, accessibility ramps, buttons commuters can press to access the streetcar’s doors and ramps and bicycle storage during non-peak hours.
The most fun feature by far, however, is the array of lights that are turned on to warn drivers and cyclists anytime the streetcar comes to a stop to unload passengers. Judging from the video, anyone in the vicinity of the streetcars will be treated to a real light show each and every time someone needs to get off the streetcar.
According to the video, it will take the better part of five years before all the city’s routes see the new streetcars.
