Apple sure knows how to get people to go to incredible lengths to purchase a new product.
This morning the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were released. Our friends at MobileSyrup were there to cover the launch, and they estimate that at least 1,200 people lined up at the Eaton Centre for a chance to purchase one of Apple’s latest smartphones. Some were in the line for almost four days.
Many of the people at the front of the lineup were there on behalf of a friend or someone who paid them to be there, including the gentleman who became the first person in Toronto to purchase an iPhone 6. “First one in Canada, guys! The new Apple i6 [sic]” he told a group of assembled reporters. Video of his media scrum can be seen below.
Were you one of the people in the line? Tell us about the experience in the comments section.
