The riff-tastic punks in PUP have been getting a lot of blog love lately. Their single “Reservoir” debuted at No. 1 on CBC’s Radio 3’s R3-30 earlier this month. Stereogum named the Toronto quartet a Band to Watch. AUX and Exclaim! can’t get enough of them. Even Metro News is recommending that you give PUP a listen. With their self-titled debut album coming out on Royal Mountain Records October 8, and tour dates scheduled across the country, including a hometown launch party October 17, these guys are launching an all out assault on your senses.
Their new video for the aforementioned single “Reservoir” — directed by Chandler Levack and Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux — is a gruesome gore-fest that displays the very real dangers of punk rocking. Check it out.
(Full disclose: I’ve known these guys forever. We’re pals from back in the day.)
