Canadian-born Berlin-based musician Digits has released a cinematic new video for “Street Violence,” a track from his serialized concept album In the City of the Dead. Inspired by the 1979 cult classic film The Warriors, the story follows a desperate “unaffiliated” young woman as she navigates the streets of a dystopian city run by cartoonish costumed gangs. Directed by Toronto-based comedy troupe Tony Ho, the video is an impressive homage to a much loved film and features some amazing original gangs like The Puppetearz, The Birds (just guys dressed up like birds) and The Real Estate Moms.
Digits will be in town performing various dates alongside Diamond Rings and Austra as part of Canadian Music Fest. You can catch Tony Ho on Thursday March 14 at Lower Ossington Theatre as part of the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival.
