If you’re the number one fan of American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, then you probably noticed the change to his Twitter profile today while creepin’ on his recent updates. If not, then here’s what’s new: On Tuesday, Twitter rolled out new header images and an update to their mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo made the announcement on NBC’s Today show and in a post on the Twitter blog.
The six-year-old website now features a centered header image and profile picture, enabling users to bring their personality forward, says Costolo. Twitter for mobile devices now allows users to swipe through photos and Android users can pinch-to-zoom.
Header images can be added by clicking “Edit profile”after hovering over the gear to the right of the search bar. From there, click “Design” then, “Change Header”. New header images can be up to 1252 pixels by 626 pixels and will have your profile picture and information overlayed.
The header images seem to have a gradient overlay from light on top to dark on the bottom once they are uploaded, so keep in mind that images with white backgrounds will look different once they are saved.
Among the first to adopt the new features are NBC’s Today show and host Ryan Seacrest.
