High meets low as diners express surprise, disappointment

Your guilty late-night McDonald’s binges are about to get a whole lot fishier.

After being test-driven around Atlantic Canada, Ontario McDonald’s diners were surprised today when restaurants began to offer the new menu item, which some diners (at least one) are saying tastes like “a chicken salad sandwich drenched in sea water.” Regardless, it’s nice to see that Canada’s unique regional McDonald’s item is something that carries the prestige of being an upmarket ingredient, even if lobster prices have been rapidly declining.

The new sandwich will set you back $6.79 on its own and $8.99 for a combo.
