Bike lanes at Adelaide and Richmond?

New east-west bike lanes could be heading to one of the busiest parts of downtown Toronto as early as 2014.

A new proposal is in the drafting stages, and will be put before the Public Works Committee this week at City Hall, according to 680 News. The proposed bike lanes may run alongAdelaide or Richmond Streets, or be divided into one lane on each road.

Good idea, or bad idea?

Controversial Attawapiskat audit

A recently-released federal spending audit of the Attawapiskat First Nation has raised some controversial findings while the band’s chief, Theresa Spence, enters the 28th day of her hunger strike.

CBC News found a sizeable lack of documents to account for the $104-million transferred between the band and the federal government between 2005 and 2011. In an Aug. 28, 2012 letter from Deloitte to Chief Spence and the Department of Aboriginal Affairs, the firm wrote 400 of 505 federal transactions during this time period were missing proper documentation.

In a Monday news release, Spence wrote the leaked audit was a “distraction[s]” from both her hunger strike and the Idle No More protests, and vowed to “remain steadfast on my journey.”

The federal funding was originally intended to support infrastructure, local education, housing and other essential services.

James Franco as Justin Bieber

The artist commonly known as James Franco released a lipsynching video of Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” on his WhoSay account on Monday night, but only for a few hours.

The multihyphenate actor, 34, dresses in a Bieber-esque grey hoodie and sings along to the catchy tune while dancing with rumoured girlfriend, and Spring Breakers co-star, Ashley Benson.

The raunchy Harmony Korine film, which debuted at TIFF last year, also stars Selena Gomez. Benson was previously attached to a close friend of Bieber’s, and in October, Franco told the press that he was not involved with either of his co-stars, saying, “those are Bieber’s girls and I wouldn’t dare tangle with the Biebs. I heard he wants to kick my ass. Yikes!”

Last year, Franco released similar videos of himself singing along to popular songs from Selena Gomez and Carly Rae Jepsen.

However, this time around, he may have taken the video off his page promptly — and without reason — but it still lives on through various YouTube uploads. Is it harmless performance art, social commentary, or just two stars appreciating the Biebs? Check it out here.
