Possible TTC stroller policy

The Toronto Transit Commission is reportedly considering a new policy that would limit the number of strollers allowed on its vehicles during rush hour.

CityNews reports a rider, Elsa La Rosa, voiced a public complaint about strollers at a TTC committee meeting on Monday. LaRosa suggested the commission charge an extra fare for stroller-users during peak transit times, particularly on buses.

At the moment, the TTC does not have a formal policy in regards to strollers, but it does for bicycles. As a result, CityNews writes the TTC board has requested a report on this subject.

“We have no plans whatsoever to charge for strollers. I think it would be wrong,” said TTC CEO Andy Byford to CityNews on Tuesday. “The TTC is there for everyone.”

In the interim, Byford is asking for all users, even those with backpacks, to use “discretion” when boarding busy vehicles.

Wayne Gretzky, Toronto Maple Leafs Team President?

Is The Great One going to be the next Toronto Maple Leafs team president? It’s possible, but not likely — for now.

Wayne Gretzky was discussed as a potential candidate for the role on Bob McCown’s Prime Time Sports on Sportsnet The Fan 590 on Tuesday, around 5:20 p.m. Former NHL player Nick Kypreos, the Star’s Damien Cox and the host discussed this reported low-level rumour, and came to the conclusion that Gretzky would be a worthy candidate.

However, the discussion quickly spread across Twitter, and speculation soon developed into a news story about a possible partnership. Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment has since denied these reports.

In 1996, Gretzky almost signed with the Leafs as a player, and was willing to take a lesser salary for a spot on the roster, according to Damien Cox‘s article in the Star.

Bill Hader on Baywatch

Here’s one — Bill Hader may be hitting the beach in a crisp, red bathing suit. The SNL star is reportedly in talks to fill David Hasselhoff’s starring role in a pending Baywatch movie, The Wrap reports.

Hader, perhaps best known for his Weekend Update character, Stefon, appeared in Men in Black III last year as Andy Warhol.

He may be great at voices and impressions, but can Hader run on a beach? Time will tell.
