Music mastermind Kanye West, who avoids interviews and press releases, went on the record to explain his newest album Cruel Summer. In one of his last public interviews he spoke his mind and concluded with, “If you say anything you lose everything.” This time he’s decided to say something without anyone (ahem Matt Lauer) twisting his words around. In the video he states, “We makin’ music to create to, to be creative to. Music that you listen to on your way to work so that you can deal with your boss. Music that you listen to ’cause you the boss so that you can deal with your employees.”
West goes on to say he just wants to “festivalize” as he exclaims, “We take it really serious to make the best product that we can but also we’re light with it too. We just wanna have fun and commune and festivalize… I’m not sure if that’s currently a word but it will be afterwards.”
We’re not sure if “festivalize” has quite the same ring as Drake’s now infamous “Yolo” but we’re willing to try it out.
