It may be the most affordable music festival of the summer, and it’s happening right in our own backyard. The lineup for Edgefest 2013 was announced this morning and the festival, sponsored by Toronto’s rock radio station, 102.1 The Edge, has managed to score one of the most popular folk-rock bands of the moment, The Lumineers, to headline. Joining the “Ho Hey” singers will be Band of Horses and groups like Monster Truck and B.C.’s Mother Mother, who more typically fit the Edgefest rock music mold.
Scheduled for a Wendesday afternoon in the middle of the week, Edgefest will take place at Downsview park on July 31st. The presale for Inside Edge members starts tomorrow at 10 a.m., while the general public can purchase their passes starting Friday. General admission tickets are selling for just $49.50 and VIP tickets will be $99.50, so while the festival may not be as big as some others taking place this summer, the price and location may just be too good to pass up.
