Toronto Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti (York West) has had an epiphany: he says he’s going to “stop getting under everybody’s skin” in spite of his talents for doing so.
Mammoliti’s change of heart comes in the wake of the brain surgery he received at St. Michael’s Hospital under two months ago to treat an abnormal passageway between vessels. Around the time of the procedure, he says he was told his condition could be fatal. Mammoliti says the ordeal was “life-altering.”
“It changes who you are as a father, it changes who you are as a politician, who you are as just a person,” he told a Toronto Star reporter.
He also noted that his antagonism at City Hall takes its toll. “I make enemies, and I really don’t want to fight with people to that degree anymore. It’s time for me to change a little bit.”
It’s not a lobotomy, but we’ll take it.
