Christian Louboutin, the world-renown shoe designer known for his signature red soles, is taking his shoes on tour around the world and the first stop is Toronto. The exhibition at the Design Exchange kicks off early this summer and will run from June 21 to September 15. Along with, of course, his shoes, sketches, materials and recreations of Louboutin’s Paris studio are also set to be included. Shoes created for the 2007 “Fetish” exhibition created in collaboration with filmmaker David Lynch will also be displayed. According to Donna Loveday the curator of the exhibition, this will give guests the opportunity to get “up close and personal” with the designer’s work and get a sense for how Louboutin shoes have come into their own “glamour, power, femininity and elegance.”
