In stark oppostion to her son’s support of same-sex marriage and other left-leaning causes, Brad Pitt’s mother penned an anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-Obama letter to her local Missouri newspaper. Mrs. Pitt’s letter implores fellow Christians to overlook any concerns about Mormonism and vote for Mitt Romney. She goes on to say that failing to vote amounts to casting a vote for the President, whom she calls: “Barack Hussein Obama, a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years … and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”
There has been no reaction from Brad, but his brother stepped in to defend Mrs. Pitt on the “Today” show: “You know, I think moms and dads and kids agree to disagree all over the world. So why would our family be any different?” Doug said. “…There can be healthy discussion when people disagree with you and I think there should be. You know, the bad thing is when it turns to venom and negativity, and we don’t have that in our family. It’s open discussion. We can learn from each other and, if anything, it solidifies your point. Or maybe you learn something.” [Guardian]
