Last week, your social media presence was incomplete if you didn’t have your own Harlem Shake video. Like Tebowing and to a lesser extent planking, the 30 second dance video phenomenon swept the internet thanks to its low barrier to entry and flash mob-esque antics that compel so many people to hit retweet. But not everyone’s Twitter-bone is tickled by the Harlem Shake craze, especially not, you know, people from Harlem. Filmmaker Chris McGuire hit the streets to ask the people of Harlem what they thought of the videos and the response was a resounding chorus of “Stop that shit.”
