Jeremy Sean (a.k.a. Mandelephant) is one of the DJs behind Loose Hips. Lately he’s been working on a daytime house/techno series called Metronautix. In his own words: “The underlying theme of my DJing style is it to use house, techno and disco to build a real emotional atmosphere while also driving the dance. I try to play tracks that don’t conform too rigidly to any particular genre and that tell stories, both on their own and when played in sequence. For this mix, many of the tunes I picked are from the last couple of years, but there’s definitely an ’80s undertone shimmering alongside the mildly reduced house tempos. These are the sounds I’d listen to while driving my neighbour’s decaying Cadillac DeVille on its dust-biting voyage to an ethereal disco paradise.”
