In one of its wisest moves yet, the Toronto International Film Festival has proclaimed today, September 5, Bill Murray Day.
To celebrate, TIFF is showing three of Murray’s classic films—Stripes, Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters—for free (alas Lost in Translation and one of his Wes Anderson collaborations are notably absent from the list). They’re also holding a contest where the person with the best Bill Murray costume will win a fabulous prize. Full details can be found on the festival’s website.
Moreover, Murray’s upcoming movie, St. Vincent, will also be shown at the festival. The trailer for it can be seen below.
I dare say what TIFF has planned for today almost makes me wish the day would repeat endlessly. Almost.
