Contribute - Toronto Standard

First published in 1848, Toronto Standard was recently reborn as a daily digital newspaper covering urban affairs, business, technology, style, culture and design – and all the sparks that happen in between.

Toronto Standard is pleased to publish some of Toronto’s most notable writers, journalists and thought-leaders. We are rapidly growing, and are currently seeking aspiring, intelligent young writers to join our newsroom and build on our past accomplishments.

There’s a lot worth talking about in Toronto and around the world. We are currently seeking freelance contributors who want to be a part of our team, producing award-winning digital commentary.

Of particular interest to us are freelance contributors who are willing to risk life and limb to report on the technology, business, and real estate happenings. That said, we are always delighted to hear from skilled writers who are passionate about other topics.

If you are hard-working, able to submit your stories in a timely manner, and understand the importance of grammar — we want to hear from you, so please get in touch by passing along your CV, any writing samples, and story pitches.

Successful candidates work from the Toronto Standard newsroom, contributing thoughtful editorial, providing copy editing, fact-checking and are encouraged to contribute their ingenuity, ideas and personality to growing the Standard. Interns will work between 3-5 days each week from our offce. Most internships are between 3 and 6 months in length. Toronto Standard frequently invites the most brilliant interns to join the Toronto Standard team on a full or part-time basis. We also frequently assign editorial from our pool of past and current interns.

This internship is unpaid. However, interns are eligible to receive academic credit for their internship. Please contact your career counselor or an academic advisor for more information about this.

TO APPLY: Send an email to jobs@torontostandard.com with your resume, cover letter and relevant writing samples.

We thank you in advance for your interest. Due to time constraints, only successful candidates will be contacted.
