Who Can Say 'No' to a Whisky Cocktail?
The Hurontario, made with Ontario's own Collingwood Whisky

Normally, when a product representative stops by the office hailing their particular brand as a must have, I am skeptical, naturally. Ontario-made Collingwood Whiskey, however, in the hands of a representative with a healthy sense of humour and sarcasm, challenged my prejudice.

The whisky is not the best you’ll ever have, but it is smooth, and its affordable price point makes it a great, accessible addition to any teak, mid-century liquor cabinet.

So, convinced, you’ve now purchased the libation, but what sorts of drinks are you going to mix after boredom over drinking it straight kicks in?

Enters, The Hurontario:

A Collingwood whisky sour with maple-sweetened lemonade and a hint of nuttiness.

1.5 oz Collingwood Whisky

½ oz Amaretto

2.5 oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice

1 oz maple syrup

2 dashes Angostrua Bitters

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, shake, then strain into a ice-filled glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel and a dusting of nutmeg.
