Justin Trudeau to announce run for Liberal leadership
image by Mo JangdaJustin Trudeau will announce his leadership bid for the Liberal Party of Canada on Tuesday in Montreal, according to La Presse and other media outlets.
The 40-year-old MP from Papineau, Que. has engaged in a “will-he-or-won’t-he run for leader” speculation since interim party helmer, Bob Rae, announced he was not seeking long-time Liberal leadership in June.
Though Trudeau originally announced that he would not vie for the party’s leadership, he later revised his stance to say he would make up his mind by the end of the summer. He is now expected to reveal his decision on Oct. 2.
At the moment, The Huffington Post reports only two candidates have announced their intention to run in the race, yet neither Deborah Coyne or Manitoba’s Shane Geschiere has paid the required $75,000 entrance fee.
Brett Lawrie returns to Twitter
Toronto Blue Jays’ JP Arencibia and Brett Lawrie sport Dumb and Dumber tuxedoes in this photo, which was originally posted to Twitter. If you scroll down, you will see the relevance to this photo selection. Still, we’re happy to see you back on Twitter, Brett!
Brett Lawrie, one of the Blue Jays’ most popular players and tweeters, returned to Twitter after a brief, less-than 12-hour retirement.
“This shall be my final tweet of all time! Take care twitter,” wrote the 22-year-old third baseman, on Monday night. That day, Lawrie hit 1-for-7 with a single and two walks in a doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles.
Lawrie disabled his account on Tuesday morning, but by the afternoon, it was reactivated. The Langley, B.C. native told the Toronto Star that no one from the Blue Jays administration asked him to close the account. Lawrie also did not want to reveal what led to his brief retirement, saying, “It doesn’t matter anyway, it’s back up now.”
Earlier this summer, Lawrie was at the Eaton Centre during the June 2 shooting, and used Twitter to post pictures, and warn his then-128,000 followers about the gunshots, from the Future Shop across the street.
Dumb and Dumber 2 is happening
Mock. Yeah! Ing. Yeah! Bird. Yeah! Yeah? Yeah! Peter and Bobby Farrelly are close to finishing the script to the official Dumb and Dumber sequel.
“You also might be interested to know that we are almost done with the Dumb and Dumber To (sic) script. I think you’re going to like it,” wrote the brothers.
With an official title and a script on the way, all Mary Samsonites are doing a dance for joy, or something.
