In Taiwan, There's a Restaurant Made Almost Entirely of Cardboard
Nothing says fine dining experience like a restaurant where everything except the food is made of cardboard

Forget Milestones and Kelsey’s, there are much more fun and inventive restaurant chains outside of North America. In Taichung City, Taiwan, food connoisseurs can eat at a restaurant where almost everything inside the space – including the chairs, tables, dishes, and decorations – is made of cardboard. The Carton Restaurant, along with the park it’s located within, was created in 2007 by Huang Fang-Liang, one of Taiwan’s most respected businessmen and founder of Chin Tang Paperware, to demonstrate the viability of cardboard as something more than simply a packaging material.

For those doubtful of the furniture’s stability, the joint’s 100 kg chef is happy to sit on one of the restaurant’s chairs – he’ll even invite a waiter to sit on his lap in case someone is extra skeptical. Now, before you begin planning your next family trip to Carton King Park, it should be noted that most report the food at Carton Restaurant to be expensive and not that tasty. [Oddity Central]
