A note on the future of Toronto Standard
This is not goodbye, but a promise for the future.

Change is in the air.

It’s not just among the autumn leaves or in the cooling outdoor air, it’s happening right here, at the Toronto Standard.

Let us be absolutely clear: this publication is not going away. However, as many of you are aware, creating a relevant and sustainable digital media organization in 2015 means evolving to the needs of a specific market and focusing on a niche that matters to a key audience segment.

To that end, we’re changing the editorial focus of Toronto Standard. Effective today, Toronto Standard will no longer be publishing general daily news stories. Between three dailies and a host of other local websites focused on the city’s most important news, we feel this is not an area where we can uniquely excel at and deliver value to our readers.

Instead, going forward Toronto Standard will focus on two things:

1) Unique profiles of founders & innovators that help make Toronto one of the greatest cities in the world.

2) The remarkable products and experiences they create that can provide a positive jolt to your life.

We strongly feel that this narrowed approach will help create a compelling reason for people to visit this website.

For those of you that have supported us for the past four years, we thank you for your support.
